Lisa Doll & the Rock n Roll Romance is an American punk rock band from Baltimore, MD. The band is Lisa Doll (vocals, guitar) and Andrew Stevens, with a backing band for live performances. Maximum Rocknroll, a punk fanzine,
said Lisa Doll & the Rock n Roll Romance “sounds like Nikki and the Corvettes meet the Ramones.” The comparison is undeniable. I love Nikki Corvette, and I love the Ramones, and Lisa Doll & the Rock n Roll Romance, with those two influences together, is unashamed punky fun!
“Don’t Wanna Break Up”, from the band’s current EP Neon Heat (2013), is a perfect balance of pop hooks and punk riffs, while “Outsider”, from the same EP, is all-out Ramones-y punk and “I Like You”, from their demo EP New Blue (2012), is pure power pop. “666ick of It” (great title!), also from the demo, even mixes in a taste of The Misfits. And, “Bubblegum Boy” (from Neon Heat) and “Mixtape Girl” (from New Blue) would make a great double A-side! I love this band’s sound, and I am definitely looking forward to a full album, or a chance to see them live!
